This method should be used when clicking on a user script link pops-up a window which shows you with the install option.

• Whenever you click on the link to user script, a window pops up
• Click on the install option and the user script will be installed

This method should be used when clicking on the link of the user script gives a page with the user script source and no pop-up window is seen.

• Click on the tools column of your FireFox.

• Find out for a Greasemonkey Option
• Click on it and find out 'Install This Script' option to install the user script

» Method 3

This method should be used when clicking on the user script popup's a window which gives an option to save the user script.

• Save the file (user script) in your computer .
• Right click on the saved user script and navigate to 'Open With' option
• Choose firefox and the user script will either display page for which you have to follow method 2 or a Pop-Up window for which you have to follow method 1

Minimize Any Applications to System Tray

Usually many of us have lots of different applications open at a single time which are accessible through the task bar. You may not want to use all the applications but still want them to be open. For example I use Windows Live Writer quite often but I do not use it all the time.

The reason to keep the applications open is that I can easily and quickly access any application I want to without waiting for the delay to start them up. Leaving all the applications on takes up much of the task bar space.

Many applications such as Outlook 2003, Windows Live Mail and all IM clients have the default option where the application is minimized to tray, this is a great option as it keeps the application open but out of the way.

I was looking for a software that would allow me to minimize any applications to the system tray so that I could keep the applications open but out of view until I wanted to use it.

Trayit is a Free software that allows you to minimize any applications to the system tray instead of the task bar. In addition to allowing you to minimize any application to the system tray it also allows you to group similar items. For e.g. you may have 5 Firefox windows open when you minimize those windows to tray they will all group under a single Firefox icon.

Trayit Usage

• You can temporarily put any window in the system tray by keeping down the button when minimizing the window.
• To always keep window in the system tray when minimized, click with the RIGHT mouse button on the corresponding icon created in the tray in the previous step and check "Place in System Tray" in the popup menu.
• Clicking with the right mouse button on the minimize icon will bring TrayIt! context menu for this window. Just check "Place in System Tray" in the popup menu to make window always go to the tray.
• The context menu will work only for the standard minimize icon and will not pop-up if the program use skins like MS Media player.

Features

• Single click action - when turned off you need to double-ckick on icon in the System Tray to activate an application.
• Group similar tray icons for each application - TrayIt will group similar windows displaying only one icon in the tray to access the group.
• Minimize when in Foreground, activate when in Background - whith this option turned on, Clicking on the System Tray icon will minimize associated window when only if it is in already in the foreground and put in the foreground otherwise.

Trayit works on Windows 95 / 98 / ME / NT / 2000 / XP and Vista. TrayIt is a stand alone application so you do not need to run any installer. Just download the zip file and unzip it in a folder. Double click on the TrayIt exe file and the application will start. You can also choose to let TrayIt start with Windows.

My 2 Cents

A very nice and handy application which is only 140 Kbs in size. This application will tag around with me as it not only saves me real estate in the task bar but also adds so much needed functionality which should be built in into Windows itself.

It's shockingly easy to create your own icons in Windows XP.

Let's do it: Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, and then click Paint. On the Image menu, click Attributes.

Type 32 for both the Width and Height of the document, and make sure that Pixels is selected under Units.

Click OK to create a new 32x32-pixel document: the size of an icon.

Now add type, color, or do whatever you'd like to your image.

I like to shrink photos (headshots work best) to 32x32 and simply paste them into my Paint document.

When you're finished, open the File menu and click Save As.

Use the dialog box to choose where you want to save your file, then give it a name followed by ".ico" (without the quotes), and click Save. (The extension ".ico" tells Windows that it's an icon file.)

You just created an icon!

Now you can change any shortcut or folder to your own icon—just browse to it on your hard drive.

we cannot make some type of pictures in 32*32 size in paint so thats the prob u r facing i.e u can make pictures of perfect square (ex:-600*600 or 200*200 etc ) to 32*32 and images of resolution such as 1024*800 etc cannot be converted into icons

Even though Google is taking steps to improve user privacy by reducing the expiration date of cookies from 2038 to two years and anonymizing server logs after 18 months, the popular search engine may still threaten your online privacy.

Each time you conduct a Google search, Google logs your IP address, the time, your search query, and ID number of the cookie it sends to your browser. This information can be traced directly back to you within 18 months of your search (after that, Google says it will anonymize all the information).


One way to keep Google from finding out what you are searching for it to use a site like Googlonymous, which conducts the search for you and claims not to keep any records. Your IP address is kept hidden.

Another way to hide what you're really searching for it to use TrackMeNot, a Firefox extension that conducts random Google searches. This way, Google has no idea which search is genuine and can't build up a profile based on your search history. In this case, your IP address isn't hidden, but your real searches are hidden in a mass of random search queries.

Textmemos is a service that lets the user type in text messages that he wants to have delivered at a certain date and time. All that needs to be done is to enter the cell phone number, the cell phone provider, the date, time and of course the message. As of now 38 different cell phone providers are supported by Textmemos most operating in the United States and Canada with only a handful European ones.

The service itself is completely free and no advertisement will be send in any way to the cell phone number of the recipient. The system behind the service utilized the fact that many cell phone provider accept sms that are send by email which is exactly what Textmemos is doing.

New sms are processed every fifteen minutes and send out to the cell phone providers. All messages are send one hour in advance of the time detailed to avoid late delivery.

My cell phone provider is unfortunately not in the list but I have a friend who is using this service quite often. It works very well. This is nice if you forget birthdays often for instance or other important events.

Get a New IP Address Even If You Have a Static IP

To start off, you need a direct connection to your modem and computer. If you have a router, disconnect it and directly hook up your modem to your computer.

1. Open up the command prompt by pressing Start->Run and typing in cmd

2. In the command prompt, type “Ipconfig/all”. This will tell you your current IP Address. After, type “ipconfig/release”. Keep the command prompt open for easy access.

3. Go to “Network Connections” (accessible through the control panel). Right click “Local Area Connection” and click “Properties”

4. With “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) selected, click the “Properties” button.

5. A new window will open. Under the “General” tab, select “Use the Following IP address”. Under “Ip Address”, put “10.0.0.1″. Press the “Tab” key on your keyboard.

6. Press Ok on both open windows.

7. Repeat steps 3-4. Under the “General” tab, press the radio button “Automatically Assign Me an Ip Address”. Press ok on both windows.

8. Go back to the command prompt and type in “Ipconfig/all”. You’ll now notice you have a new IP address.

So, this will be handy if you want to by-pass Rapidshare 1 hour download limit, provided that you have a static IP address.

eRightSoft has a freeware program called S.Y.M.P.A that acts as an SMTP client to allow the sending of anonymous emails. It loads up a proxy website on startup with a list of proxies to choose from.

If you want to try sending an untraceable email, choose one of the proxies labeled anonymous and test it by sending an email to yourself. Then check the message header to see if the IP address listed is the one you've been assigned. You can check your IP here. If you don't recognize the IP in the header, then you've probably found a reliable anonymous proxy.
